-PRODUCTION SOUND for Picture: Behind the Sound Cart or working from an ENG Harness, the resposibility to capture True, Articulate, Easily Edited Sound is Our First Priority. We do it so that it’s done reliably and correctly. Since we ar specialists, there for one reason, it is also done more quickly than through other means or with non-specialized crew. We are Real, Experienced, Responsive and Professional Audio Engineers.
Using World Class Microphones and Wireless Equipment, Multi-track audio is tracked along with a real-time Production Mix from the field mixer. Timecode is synced to each Camera, the Recorder and Digital Slate for precise playback. Metadata, such as Isolated Track names ( ISO Tracks ), field notes, technical data, date and Project information are stored to files. That same information is also transcribed on a PDF and CSV in a Location Sound Report. No exceptions. Every client gets this crucial information.
We may employ IFBs for real-time audio monitoring for Clients and specified Crew. Sound dampening and environmental treatment will be utilized whenever needed. Portable Voice-Over Booth may be requested for the location. We have worked hard to make sure that a day of Production is a day of successful Sound Capture. The Sound Team
A Sound Mixer (or Sound Recordist in some regions) usually heads a team, consisting of his/her/them self, a Boom Operator and a Sound Utility (also called Utility Sound Technician / 2nd Assistant Sound / A2). On a very small production, the Sound Mixer may work alone, wearing multiple hats to cover the whole department. The style and staffing of the Sound Department on your production may be determined by budget but so will its capability and work load.
Playback Engineer:
Provides Timecode playback to sync camera footage to pre-recorded content on set, such as with music videos. This is also used during other productions for Talent Cues and other scenarios in which audio is fed directly into a performance. Audio playback can be provided through IFBs, Walkie’s, small in-er monitors on talent, phones, cell phones, and PA sound systems. Details for playback should always be discussed with the sound team when contracts and rentals are on the table. This is not a job for a singular Sound Recordist to take care of on the fly. Nor are those tools part of a small ENG Audio Kit.
